Howdy Writer. I’m Alex Knepper. I’m your friendly neighborhood writer. Here, I like to talk about the writing process, the things I’m consuming that keep me inspired, and hopefully you get inspired too.
If you know someone who might like to get these in their inbox, go ahead and share it.
Pumpkin Spice.
Changing leaves.
Cool, crisp air.
Scarves & hot tea.
All classic signs that it’s now NaNoWriMo season….
Sorry, did you think I was going to say Fall? For some of you, yes, perhaps you want to throw your windows open and enjoy the cool reprieve from Summer’s reign and enjoy Autumn in all it’s glory.
But for me, it means it’s NaNoWriMo season y’all! And are we ready? Crap, I think we may have to be!
For those of you who don’t know, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a month long self-flagellation where thousands of writers all around the world gather together (on the internet) and attempt to write a novel in a month.
This traditionally takes place in November, and folks will aim to write 50,000 words over 30 days. About 1,667 words per day, which is just over 8 pages. *starts sweating profusely*.
Any self respecting person might not understand the draw to imposing oneself to such a massive project. But every year— I hear its siren call. And I must make the attempt.
If you want to finally get that novel out of you, I highly suggest joining the fun! You can sign up on NaNoWriMo’s website here:
Or you can do what I’m doing, and attempt the feat by yourself.
Oh yes, as I am writing this, I am on Day One of a self-inflicted NaNoWriMo that I am attempting between September 18th-October 17th. Why you might ask, am I doing a pre-NaNo NaNo? Well that’s a question for next week!
Get writing!!💕
