Thanks for this review! As a fiction writer, I'm always trying to read more poetry b/c I think it helps my prose, but it's hard to know what to pick when looking for a collection to read. I'd never thought about it before, but Instagram does seem like a great platform for poets. I will have to start following Rupi.
I totally agree. I think poetry really helps with prose. It also helps with editing because you learn how to economically use your words! It’s just a raw expression of feeling, no fluff! Rupi is so big right now and I think she really helped propel poetry into a modern audience. Right now, she is on her world tour— can you imagine? A humble poet performing for thousands?? Definitely stay tuned as I have her next two books queued up to read & review! Thanks for reading!
